Directors Spotlight: 7th-12th Directing Camp

Ever wondered what it takes to bring a production to life from the director’s chair? In collaboration with Robinson Community Learning Center, this hands-on Directing Camp is designed for 7th-12th graders interested in the creative and leadership side of theatre.

Throughout the week, students will explore the fundamentals of directing, including blocking, storytelling, working with actors, and staging techniques. They’ll gain practical experience leading scenes, giving feedback, and making artistic choices to bring scripts to life.

In addition to working with experienced theatre educators, students will also have the opportunity to work with Chicago Based Guest Director, Greg Kolack, who will offer valuable insight and advice from his extensive experience in the field.

Field Trip:
The camp includes a special field trip to the Raclin Museum, where students will have the opportunity to explore the intersection of visual art and performance. This trip will inspire new ideas for staging and storytelling in theatre.
